'The Stranger Who Came To Stay' is a short monologue film performed by incredible young actor Isla Spencer.
The monologue, written and directed by Tom Doona, is inspired by a poem written by John Doona (Tom's Dad) after John experienced a short, intense episode of steroid-induced psychosis. The monologue takes inspiration from John's writing, as well as reflecting on Tom's own memory of that short period.
It explores a young character's experience, and how she uses storytelling to try and understand an enormous, confusing and scary thing.
